The Presidio, one of SF’s crown jewels, is home to several projects delivered by Fisher. Looking back on Fisher at 50, we couldn’t be prouder of our involvement with our client, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy (GGNPC), in bringing these beloved civic spaces to life.

Fisher is delighted to announce that Laura Ellington has joined the Company as Vice President of Project Development. In her role, she is leading the charge to expand and diversify the Company’s portfolio of clients and construction projects. Throughout Laura’s 27-year career in the AEC industry, she has earned a reputation for successfully opening up new strategic opportunities in the Life Sciences, Healthcare, Education and hospitality sectors. We look forward to Laura’s collaborative approach and infectious enthusiasm to help grow Fisher’s footprint in Northern California. Laura has a bachelors in Environmental Design from the University of California Davis.

Fisher is pleased to announce a new partnership with San Francisco-based Red Bridge Group. RBG works with organizations to transform underutilized places into activated, vibrant destinations that the community can cherish and pass to future generations. Their collaborative approach engages a broad range of stakeholders, including key partners like Fisher Development who have a particular expertise.

Fisher is no stranger to these kinds of projects–Crissy Field Center (LEED Platinum), The Golden Gate Bridge Visitor Enhancement Project, Land’s End Memorial Overlook, The Presidio Seed Lab and the restoration of the historic  Hosteling International buildings at Fort Point–highlight our deep experience in this realm.

“We’re proud of our association with the visionary and dedicated people who seek to honor the heritage of these sites while imagining creative new uses for them,” said Fisher EVP, Sydney Fisher Bernier. “Activating and revitalizing these often overlooked spaces is not only a fundamental civic responsibility, it’s also incredibly gratifying. We look forward to collaborating with RBG to bring more of these treasures to the Bay Area and beyond.”

After 18 months of intensive programming and design of SFO’s new wayfinding system, it all came down to one night. At 10PM on October 15, a dedicated and focused team comprised of Fisher, subcontractors, consultants and of course, the incredible SFO staff, dispersed throughout the entire airport to reveal new gate numbering system. The team worked throughout the night finishing their assignments in the early dawn hours of October 16. By all accounts, the execution was flawless. Congrats to the entire team on pulling off what we’re told is the world’s first airport-wide gate renumbering program!
